Dave Sharpe was one of the stars of the Republic serial, "Daredevils of the Red Circle" (1939) and was not allowed to do his own stunts, so Jimmy (in mid leap) was Dave's stunt double.

In the Republic serial, "King of the Royal Mounted" (1940,) Jimmy falls out of a truck and rolls down an embankment.

In 1942, Jimmy was killed while riding his motorcycle when a car (driven by actor Ralf Harolde) shot out in front of him.
