A. J. Bakunas
A. J. Bakunas (1950-1978) was a pole vaulter in high school. He quit his gym teaching job and moved to Los Angeles to become a stuntman.

In "The Stunt Man," A. J. (bottom left) also played the role of the script supervisor.
On September 21, 1978, A.J. was tragically killed while performing a record breaking high fall for the movie, "Steel." Here, he is being interviewed by star Lee Majors (right).
